In STUK STUDIO, a light curtain by Belgian artist duo Club Efemeer is gently waving to the memory of a summer breeze. Although generated using laser light and controlled by software, Voile looks and behaves very naturally, giving it a sense of familiarity. This interplay between the digital, the analogue and the natural is a cornerstone in the practice of Club Efemeer. Voile was created and presented for the first time in Quebec, Canada and will land in STUK during STUK START for its European premiere.
Club Efemeer
Since its inception in 2017, the work of visual artists Maarten Vanermen and Arnaud De Wolf connects visual art with scenography, and science with sensorial experiences. In their current practice, they investigate ways to manipulate artificial light and smoke in order to create sculptural shapes and volumes without a tangible body. Club Efemeer lives and works in Brussels.
