DANCING
Koen De Preter’s latest performance is a quest for freedom. He sees the stage as a large blank canvas where all forms of movement can happen. DANCING is stubborn, poetic, absurd, haunting, and intense. Eclectic like a crazy disco.
DANCING is a statement. De Preter welcomes the audience, opens the doors of the venue and controls the light and sound. It’s all do-it-yourself – a decision based both on circumstances and approach. The undertones of DANCING articulate the vulnerable position many artists find themselves in today.
DANCING is not only about dance in itself; it’s about the person behind the artist, who dances from their soul out of necessity. DANCING marks Koen De Preter’s return to the stage after a long absence as a dancer.
