Farmer Train Swirl - Étude
Dancer Cassiel Gaube and deejay Kong strip house to its essence.
Dancer Cassiel Gaube traveled to the energetic club scenes of Paris and New York to delve into house dance, a dance style born in the clubs of Chicago and New York in the early eighties. Farmer Train Swirl - Étude is the result of his extremely personal research. Sampling, appropriation and transformation are at the center of house dance, in itself a hybrid mix of hip-hop, salsa, rasta dance and tap dance. Gaube’s 'étude' is an exercise in which he explores, embodies, transforms and imagines new forms of the expressive possibilities of house.
When Kong saw Gaube at work, he felt a direct connection to his own practice as a DJ and producer. He invited Gaube to take the solo directly to the dance floor of the Brussels nightclub C12. Especially for STUK START, the duo will reunite for a special club version of Farmer Train Swirl - Étude.
