For Blinky Palermo
A unique ode to the artist Blinky Palermo
In 2010, Marc Vanrunxt brought us a split-screen choreography in For Edward Krasinski. Two dancers simultaneously danced a solo created by two different choreographers dedicated to the painter Krasinski. Today Vanrunxt pays tribute to avant-garde painter Blinky Palermo, again in a split-screen choreography, together with Georgia Vardarou. She creates a solo for Julia Rubies Subiros, he creates one for Robson Ledesma.
In For Edward Krasinski, time and sound were determined by one piece of music. This time, the idea of a split is also explored in music. Daniel Vanverre and Raphael Malfliet, both fascinated by early Belgian electronic music, each create a composition. Where do choreography and composition meet at the end of the rehearsal process?
