HOLDERS
How ageing bodies carry memories
HOLDERS is an immersive performance that delves into the ageing body’s capacity to hold memory. Set within a dynamic textile installation – a visual metaphor for the memory – the piece brings the process of remembering and forgetting to life. At its core are five 65+ women, non-professional performers but the ‘holders’ of this fragile yet powerful space. As they knit and unravel its fabric, they whisper, sing, and scream the stories woven within it.
Like modern-day Sirens, they navigate this textile vessel, steering through moments of wonder and unease. With their raw authenticity and disarming presence, they draw the audience into a shared journey of connection and collective remembrance, blurring the line between observer and participant.

Relaxed performances?
This is a relaxed performance. Those are performances that loosen the classic rules of a theatre venue: fewer stimuli, subdued lighting, and an open atmosphere where it's perfectly okay to move or make sounds. This is how we aim to make our performances more accessible to a wider audience. You can read more about our relaxed performances and accessibility via this link.
