Jazz op zondag: OLA TUNJI
Expressive jazz impro carried by love, compassion and serenity.
OLA TUNJI is a new quartet that explores musical interaction as a powerful and expressive language. United by a shared passion for the spiritual and musical lives of John & Alice Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Albert Ayler, its members rise to compose improvised music, carried by love, compassion, joy, and serenity.
The group released its first album, Untitled EP, on September 27, 2024, to widespread acclaim (One Man's Jazz radio, article on All About Jazz in the “Spiritual Jazz Revival” category) and a warm digital reception.
A debut album, currently in preparation, will be released in 2026 on WERF RECORDS.
The new STUK season has arrived, which automatically means a new Jazz on Sunday series at STUKcafé! Last year was full of vibrant jazz energy, and we will continue that trend in the autumn of 2025. The formula remains the same: free jazz concerts (or DJ sets) every Sunday in Leuven's most beautiful café. Every month, you can enjoy two live concerts, a special jazz evening curated by LUCA Jazz, and a DJ set with groovy jazz tunes. The programme is constantly being updated, so keep an eye on the STUK website!
