• Ben Bertrand
Ben Bertrand is a bass clarinetist from Brussels. With his instrument and countless effects, he creates hypnotic compositions. Melodic patterns, uncanny textures and low basses are built up layer by layer into dense clouds of sound. His music has something mysterious, serene, ancient. Listening to Ben Bertrand is like sitting by the sea and finding a moment of stillness as the world rushes by. His upcoming LP, Relic Radiation, has been released in March 2025 on the famous Belgian label Stroom.
• Joanne Robertson
Joanne Robertson is a Scottish musician and painter. Her painting and music both form from improvisatory moments of expression. This results in dreamy songs with long and free structures, meandering vocal lines, reverberating fingerpicking guitar and buzzing lo-fi production. What matters is not so much perfection as the emotions and energy of the moment. Robertson regularly collaborates with her friends, such as Dean Blunt and Elias Rønnenfelt. Her previous album Blue Car (2023) was a collection of unreleased and spontaneously recorded songs from a ten-year period, like a kind of musical diary. In September, her new solo album Blurr will be released on leading UK label AD 93 (Moin, James K, YHWH Nailgun).
