Workshop Achterland – Rosas / Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker
Workshop on ACHTERLAND by Rosas / Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, on February 7 and 8 in 30CC/Schouwburg.
The workshop will not, as stated originally, be given by Fumiyo Ikeda, but by Johanne Saunier.
Between 1986 and 1998, Johanne Saunier was closely involved in the creation of a wide range of creations by Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas. She was active as a dancer as well, both in the productions as in the re-enactments of other Rosas productions.
In 1998 she and Jim Clayburgh, light and set designer and co-founder of American theatre company The Wooster Group, created the production structure JOJI INC. Their collaboration resulted in an extended series of productions. In 2000 she was awarded the Prix d'Auteur of the Conseil Général de Seine-Saint Denis (Bagnolet) for her performance Final Scene. One of JOJI INC's best-known productions is Erase-E(X) from 2004. It consists of a suite of six parts, created in interaction with other artists like De Keersmaeker, director Isabella Soupart, The Wooster Group, videast Kurt D'Haeseleer and composer Georges Aperghis.
