• Venediktos Tempelboom

Ghent wanderer Benoit Monsieurs aka Venediktos Tempelboom performs melancholic guitar strumming in the tradition of American folk-primitivists John Fahey and Robbie Basho, but rooted in the misty Flemish fields. With his twelve-string guitar, Tempelboom fancies himself a medieval troubadour in search of the mystical and meditative. His latest album Syne Vuyle Hoeck was recently released on KRAAK and recalls the best of Ignatz or Six Organs of Admittance.

• MJ Guider

MJ Guider is the alias of Melissa Guion, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and radio DJ from New Orleans, LA. She released her debut EP anonymously via the Constellation Tatsu label before signing to Kranky Records.

• BIG|BRAVE

BIG|BRAVE is a Canadian trio that, like acts such as The Body and Divide and Dissolve, is reinventing what the heavy genre can sound like today. Since 2012, their music has been characterised by guitarist Mathieu Ball's wall of sound, Tasy Hudson's slow and bombastic drums and frontwoman Robin Wattie's magnificent voice. 2024 saw the release of their album A Chaos of Flowers via Thrill Jockey Records, which features - in addition to the usual combination of doom metal with soundscapes - some (French-sung) folk influences. Guest musicians like Tashi Dorji, Marisa Anderson and Patrick Shiroishi add even more colour to the orchestration of the record. Live, the trio still guarantees a colossal sound of feedback and distortion and slowly building climaxes, led by Wattie's ecstatic vocals.

• ORANGE FACTORY

Concert organiser Orange Factory, active in the Leuven underground since 1997, serves solid rock music on the cutting edge, from stoner to prog-jazz and from psychedelic rock to ambient doom metal. Preferably with bands that transcend genres.
