Softies
Soft is the new tough! Softies is a virtuoso dance and circus performance in which everything revolves around daring to make yourself vulnerable. Three acrobats compete against one another in a physical game: raw and spectacular one moment, flowing and tender the next. They fight, jump, dive, carry and catch each other. They seek out danger together, while simultaneously coming dangerously close to one another. Softies breaks through the clichés of what’s tough and what’s not, about how girls and boys should behave, and what circus and dance should look like.
Hanna Mampuys is a physical performer, acrobat and circus maker. She began her career as a young dancer at fABULEUS and founded the circus collective Deux Sans Trois and There There Company. Mampuys dances with Cie Woest, and works as a coach and jury member for the Rotterdam circus course Codarts.
