Steve Gunn / Echo Beatty
New York singer-guitarist has been delivering superb albums for over 15 years, full of virtuoso guitar strumming and delightful melodies. A double bill with Echo Beatty, presenting their new album Vision Glitch.
Echo Beatty is the alter ego of singer-songwriter Annelies Van Dinter. Her third album Vision Glitch will be released in March on the label Unday Records (known for Dans Dans, Millionaire, among others). Nine delicious dream pop songs following the familiar Echo Beatty recipe: a flawless singing voice, catchy melodies, cheeky guitars and expansive arrangements. The music evokes flashbacks, dreams and reflections, merging past, present and future. Vision Glitch is one of those albums that will keep you company when you're on the road. Van Dinter started drumming in punk bands as a teenager, and she has never really lost that punk mentality, whose intensity and sense of urgency is evident when she plays live. She has already toured Europe and the US with Styrofoam and Echo Beatty but also as a multi-instrumentalist with Bed Rugs, Trixie Whitley, Mauro Pawlowski and The Black Heart Rebellion. For fans of Big Thief, Cate Le Bon or Yo La Tengo.
Steve Gunn (solo)
Steve Gunn is an American guitarist, singer and songwriter whose career spans almost two decades. His six studio albums are instant classics and he has already worked solo and in ensemble with the likes of Kurt Vile, Mary Lattimore, Mdou Moctar and Julianna Barwick. Clever compositions, virtuoso guitar strumming and a wonderfully grainy voice take you on a slightly psychedelic folk rock trip. His sixth studio album, 2021's Other You, was recorded in Los Angeles, creating a remarkably summery vibe. With a wide range of collaborations, delicate arrangements and one earworm after another, it is also his most complete record. Steve Gunn, for the first time in Leuven!
