Expect known and less known musical influences. Taxi-Brousse takes you to the swing tradition of giants like Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Rex Stewart, Barney Bigard, Johnny Hodges, Cootie Williams, Benny Goodman and many other brilliant composers from the early swing era of the 30s to the jumpblues of the 50s. All band members provide soulful arrangements.
Taxi-Brousse brings back that unique atmosphere to the dancefloor, with fantastic classics you know and expect. Their mission? The perfect groove and inclusive tempos, so everyone can let go.
About the Leuvense Hoppers:
With their swinging style, De Leuvense Hoppers effortlessly transport every room to the roaring twenties.
This group dances lindy hop, a swing partner dance that originated in the 1920s and remained popular in the decades that followed. Although you might spot suspenders and a flamboyant skirt here and there on the dance floor, the hoppers primarily provide an accessible swing party at the STUKcafé. It is for anyone with a soft spot for pure jazz vibes set to the tunes of Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, and others.Even without suspenders, you are welcome to take a step onto the dance floor, or simply come and soak up the atmosphere!
Free access
No admission fee, but we will be passing around a hat to cover the costs of the event. Membership fees are open, but we warmly request generous donations so that we can continue organising these events.

Parking
From 21h: free in the streets of Leuven. If you book a parking spot in advance on Q Parking Heilig Hart, you only pay 9,40 euro instead of 16 euro (-> 'Avondje uit" - 18h till 3h).
