We kick off the cultural year with a dazzling festival evening at the STUK arts centre. You decide where you go or stand (although you shouldn't miss the free aperitif at 7 p.m.). Musicians Porcelain ID and Youniss pay tribute to Prince with an extravagant reworking of the legendary Purple Rain from 1984. More in the mood for dancing? Then drop in on one of the two dance and music duos: stepping artist Briana Ashley Stuart tap dances in dialogue with jazz saxophonist Adia Vanheerentals; “human brush” Vincent Glowinski will send you into ecstasy with ambient composer Natasha Pirard. Don't miss Sad Banana in between. Dressed as a banana, Sad Banana sings, speaks and raps her way between dada-punk, hip-hop and French chanson. Take a breather at the exhibition by Uzbek artist Saodat Ismailova or the installation by Club Efemeer. Or how about a video work on gender identity and personal transformation by American artist Martine Gutierrez? Afterwards, the roof will be raised at STUKcafé with Leuven's She The DJ. Ready for takeoff?

➤ Access only via Naamsestraat.
➤ Beware: in is in, out is out. Once you leave TakeOff UUR KULTUUR, you can’t re-enter..
➤ Drinks are only allowed in STUKcafé and Labozaal. No drinks are allowed in the other rooms.
➤ The doors of Soetezaal closes once the show has started. The other rooms are with open doors, you can walk in & out.
