The cultural framework of digital design

Lecture in English

Atmos Studio is a multidisciplinary art + architecture + design practice that works across scales and media, from small-scale product-design to large-scale master-plans. The office was founded in 2006 by Alex Haw with the mission to enrich and improve our spatial experience of the world.

Atmos’ projects vary in scale and typology, yet they all stem from the intention of designing memorable experiences for the users and create immersive, stirring spaces and things, landscapes and moments, that all merge meaning and sensuality.

The office works 4-dimensionally, maximising the potential of any project in both space and time, choreographing users and viewers on multi-sensory journeys through radically new environments.

Besides lecturing widely and writing for various magazines, Alex Haw runs the project Latitudinal Cuisine - bringing people together around the world to share meals and experiences. He played the lead psycho in Chris Nolan's first feature film, Following.

Alex Haw’s work epitomises the richness and contradictions of digital design. His work is culturally informed, technically innovative, digital yet physical, multi-sensorial, human-scaled - and always aimed at enhancing pleasure. Atmos embodies the today’s broad scope of digital design, characterised by advanced technologies, multi-disciplinarity and collaboration among different disciplines.
