The Mirror Egg
Multidisciplinary artist Floris Vanhoof activates STUK's facade with flickering projections and electronic soundtrack.
During the lockdown, musician and artist Floris Vanhoof began filming again with his 16mm and projecting the films onto windows. Once he started, he couldn't stop. In The Mirror Egg our perception is overloaded with flickering, layered 16mm film and loops from his analog sound modules.
"The regularity of constantly sitting at home inspired me to build a miniature sitcom-like film set where something different could happen every day. I also bought a backpack that allows me to take the camera on my daily walk. The inhabitants of the film set and myself thus get into absurd situations from which a stream of images emerges." - Floris Vanhoof
