Toendra is a band based in Leuven that appeals to audiences of all ages, including children, youth, families, and schools. Our sweet-voiced frontman, Hannes Deryckere, leads the group, while Arne Heylen serves as our guitarist and primary songwriter. Bart Steeno and Frederik Lerouge handle the drums and bass, respectively. They perform catchy Dutch-language songs that blend elements of indie, pop, rock, blues, grunge, and reggae. The lyrics are poetic and imaginative, exploring a variety of themes such as: daring to be yourself, friendship, overcoming fears, standing up to bullies, experiencing love, philosophical reflections, parent-child relationships, and promoting respect and care for one another and nature. We also celebrate diversity and inclusion, addressing themes from 'then' and 'now,' and everything in between.
