Walter Hus on Decap

On the legendary Decap organ, 90s dance classics are played by an automatic orchestra.

The Decap organ is a truly Belgian heritage. These automatic orchestras from Herentals brightened up our dance cafés at the beginning of the 20th century with machine-played schlagers, waltzes and mambos. Brussels composer Walter Hus, another pillar in Belgian music, acquired one of these colossal Decaps and began composing idiosyncratic music for it. For the documentary The Sound of Belgium (2012), Hus even arranged some Belgian new beat classics for Decap. Curious how rave hits like Universal Nation and Age of Love sound through organ pipes?
