WIPCOOP - Work In Progress 2025

Discover what is brewing in the Leuven scene with work in progress by three young makers

Following Stuk and OPEK (fABULEUS), this year 30CC/Minnepoort is opening its doors to WIPCOOP – Work in Progress by Mestizo Arts Platform. What the WIP? During WIPCOOP, both the public and the arts sector will have a unique opportunity to discover new work in progress. Creators will show thirty minutes of their work in progress, followed by time for discussion, meeting and exchange.

This year, three new creators are colouring the programme in Leuven: Chipo Sikumba, Israël Ngashi and Zoë Doise. Each brings their own universe, with roots in hip-hop culture, storytelling and powerful movement language.

Magical stories, krump vibes and a fire ritual – and you can join in the conversation, share in the experience and discover along with us.

PROGRAMME

14:00 - 14:30 Welcome

14:30 - 15:00 Zunda iLanga – Chipo Sikumba

In Zunda iLanga, we meet Anansi, the weaving spider, who does not want to get caught in his own web. Through stories that balance fact and fantasy, we travel through time and discover how stories shape and transform us.

With rhythm, prose and play, Chipo brings the African oral tradition to the stage. Born in Mozambique and shaped by his travels in Eswatini, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and now Belgium, he collects stories that matter and passes them on – from mouth to ear, from heart to heart.

15:00 - 16:00 feedback, round table discussions & artist talks

16:00 - 16:30 Welcome to Ksaarland: The Kingdom of Party – Israël Ngashi (Wild ou Illicite)

What if partying became a way of life? With Ksaarland, Israël Ngashi creates an explosive performance that celebrates dance, togetherness and expression. Inspired by Brussels youth culture around the word ksaar (Darija for fun and relaxation), he invites you to let go of your worries, sing out of tune and dance without restraint.

Israel is a rising star in the Belgian krump scene: world champion in duo at the International Illest Battle, member of the Konzi dance company and active in the street culture collective Timiss. With Welcome to Ksaarland, he takes you to a world where vibe reigns supreme.

16:30 - 17:30 feedback, round table discussions & artist talks

17:30 - 18:00 Agni Kai – Zoë Doise

Agni Kai unfolds a fiery choreography about inner struggle and liberation. Inspired by the iconic fire duel from Avatar, Zoë Doise explores the balance between control and surrender. In this choreographic ritual, fire becomes both destruction and transformation – an invitation to face your own power and dare to burn.

Zoë grew up in Limburg, danced in international teams and collaborated on shows and productions from Tomorrowland to The Voice. Today, she is a choreographer and teacher, with a style bursting with female empowerment, energy and character.
