Farida Amadou

Farida Amadou is one of the most exciting young voices in the European free improvisation and experimental music scene, according to Café Oto. It explains why she has played with household names such as Thurston Moore and Steve Noble. Farida plays the bass guitar like no one else does: unpolished and quasi messily, with a metallic timbre and a strong emphasis on rhythm. Recently she has been experimenting with effects and electronics, further widening the range of her instrument into a more layered, harmonic and drony approach. During the residency, Farida will work on new material, which she'll hopefully present publicly in STUK next May.
