Luis Miguel Ramirez Muñoz - Half-Life

During this residency Luis Miguel Ramirez will be working on Half-Life together with his collaborators, a creation for his graduation project at STUDIOS, the M.A. in dance at P.A.R.T.S.

The concept of Half-Life is a reference to Ubik, a science fiction book by Phillip K Dick. Half-Life is a simulated reality where people are placed in a state of suspended animation when they die and which they can come out of at certain intervals.

In the studio they’ve been creating materials that deal with interruption, interference, transformation and dissociation, Notions of Inside/outside, defamiliarization, the weird and the eerie, dystopia, and the loss of agency under the influence of unidentifiable forces at work.
