Slumberland

Sound artist Jochem Baelus will perform research in STUK. He starts not from his own studio, but from an interaction with what happens outside those four walls. No mecanical, electronic sound objects, but self-made instruments that start from the human body as if they were extensions, needing a physical act. The design of those instruments is based on physical patterns, movements and everyday actions of different individuals in their surroundings. By visually registring these actions he creates a new instrumentarium from film footage of social interventions.
