fABULEUS / Natascha Pire & Helder Seabra

Human Instruction Manual

How do you read and decipher yourself and others? How do you interpret a look, an intonation, a posture or touch? How do you respond and how is that response received?

Human Instruction Manual is an energetic dance production. Choreographers Natascha Pire and Helder Seabra speak the same dance language: simultaneously fierce and fragile, fluid and with a great deal of physical contact. For this first joint creation, together with a group of young dancers, they investigate the role of body language and touch, two themes that in our current times are more complex than ever.

Between 2002 and 2013, Natascha Pire made a string of successful dance productions for fABULEUS, including Instant Karma, Indian Curry, Everland (in collaboration with Dirk De Lathauwer) and GIRLS (in collaboration with Ugo Dehaes). She has since worked as a choreographer, dancer and coach for BRONKS and hetpaleis, among others. Portuguese dancer/choreographer Helder Seabra was one of the key dance figures within Ultima Vez and Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Since 2013, he has increasingly developed his own work, at home and abroad, and with his company Incognitus.
