Klara Lewis + Het Interstedelijk Harmoniumverbond
Belgian premiere of Klara Lewis’ intense audiovisual live show and album release of Het Interstedelijk Harmoniumverbond.
STUK and KRAAK fill Labozaal with immersive sound experiences: acoustic or through speakers, with or without visuals. We present you Klara Lewis with the Belgian live premiere of new album Care, and the release of the debut album by Het Interstedelijk Harmoniumverbond.
Swedish experimental producer Klara Lewis is a child of Stockholm’s ambient scene (Kali Malone, Ellen Arkbro, …). Her intense sound sculptures meander between ice cold and scorching hot, with vaguely recognisable field recordings, voices and hints of soul. In 2018 she released her third album Care, a collaboration with Simon Fisher Turner, which she presented on festivals like Berlin Atonal and MUTEK.
Het Interstedelijk Harmoniumverbond brings together four drone musicians from four different cities: Glen Steenkiste (Hellvete), Brecht Ameel, David Edren and Steve Marreyt. Together they embrace the spectral beauty of the harmonium, an acoustic keyboard instrument with a bellow, used to play long low tones. With four harmoniums they bring elongated compositions that focus on texture and timbre. They present their debut album, released on KRAAK.
“An extraordinary, moving montage of field recordings and electronics”
“The way Lewis manipulates recordings of her own surroundings is expressive and intuitive, and the music sparkles with personality despite its sparseness.”
