Workshop: Cinna Peyghamy — Acoustic-electronic integration through modular synthesis

Cinna Peyghamy is a French percussionist of Iranian origin. This heritage is important as he plays the tombak, a traditional Persian instrument, and draws on the complex rhythms of Iranian music. What sets him apart is his ability to combine these virtuoso tombak rhythms with a modular synthesiser. By connecting the tombak and the synth, he creates hybrid sounds where the acoustic and the electronic, tradition and innovation, merge. During his masterclass, Cinna Peyghamy will talk about how to approach using an acoustic instrument with modular synthesizer. He will breakdwn the patch he spent years building for his live performances, and discuss strategies and leads for developping a personnal hybrid setup.
