fABULEUS / Koen De Preter - followfollow

Choreographer and performer Koen De Preter has a long track record with fABULEUS. He created the solo piece Les mots ... toujours les mots bien sûr (2004), the youth production .White.Muted.Crash. (2005) and the duet We dance to forget (2007), which toured for more than six seasons in eleven countries. For his latest fABULEUS creatie, followfollow, Koen works with a group of young people between the ages of 13 and 21.

As well as being a dance production about following, in all senses of the word, followfollow is about copying and imitating; underground becoming mainstream; fashion appearing, disappearing and returning; giving thumbs-up and giving hearts; and following the lead and sometimes going the wrong way.

Koen De Preter (1981, Belgium) is choreographer and performer. In his work he takes risks with forms and target audiences. He creates evening and school performances, makes work outside the theatre walls and sets up social-artistic projects. He has a fascination for performers of all ages and dance backgrounds. He strives for a balance between abstraction and theatrical performativity in choreography and uses eclectic soundtracks for his creations.
