Roxane Métayer - Appareils Sporophoniques
“The residency will be a research to achieve a dialogue between the violin and my ‘Appareils sporophoniques’. On the one hand I will create a composition with sounds that will be emitted by the violin and by these Appareils Sporophoniques, on the other hand I will think about the possibilities of staging, of a choreography and of movements between sounds.” - Roxane Métayer
Roxane Métayer is een Franse, in Brussel wonende muzikant en beeldend kunstenaar. Als violist-componist bracht ze al verschillende albums uit bij o.a. Kraak en Vlek en speelde op plekken als Meakusma, Botanique en Les Atelier Claus. De laatste tijd onderzoekt Métayer meer en meer de relatie tussen haar muzikale en visuele praktijk. Zo creëerde ze recent keramische geluidssculpturen (‘The Appareils Sporophoniques’) waarmee ze installaties en performances brengt. In STUK wil ze onderzoeken hoe ze haar live viool-performances kan verbinden met deze geluidssculpturen. Dit zal resulteren in een installatie-concert dat getoond wordt in Studio STUK Manhattan op 11 mei 2023, tijdens de zesde editie van Beyond Music.
