With their new installation Atmospheric Room (Pink Cloud), artist duo Club Efemeer transforms the STUK Vitrine into a space of suspended sensation. Smoke gathers in the upper reaches of the room—not as a mist that shrouds everything, but as a dense mass, held aloft by the colder air beneath. What emerges is a volume: a cloud without natural origin, a presence both tangible and elusive.
The installation invites a slowing down of the gaze, an embodied encounter with an image in gentle, continuous flux. Within Club Efemeer’s research-driven visual practice, light and smoke become the raw materials of fleeting forms—ephemeral sculptures that linger in the mind.

CLUB EFEMEER
(Belgium)
Since its inception in 2017, the work of visual artists Maarten Vanermen and Arnaud De Wolf connects visual art with scenography, and science with sensorial experiences. In their current practice, they investigate ways to manipulate artificial light and smoke in order to create sculptural shapes and volumes without a tangible body. Club Efemeer lives and works in Brussels.
