Chroma_don’t be frightened of turning the page is een bezwerende voorstelling van de Italiaanse choreograaf Alessandro Sciarroni. Vanuit zijn fascinatie voor repetitieve bewegingen en volks-dansen kwam hij terecht bij rotatie of ‘spinning’. Het eindeloos rond de as draaien wordt al eeuwenlang aangewend om in een meditatieve toestand te komen, maar is ook één van de belangrijkste bouwstenen van het klassiek ballet. In Chroma nodigt de Italiaanse choreograaf het publiek uit om zich volledig over te geven aan de eigen verbeelding. Hij draait en tolt eindeloos – tot alle eenduidige betekenissen zich losweken van de beweging en het fysieke aspect op de voorgrond treedt. Omringd door het publiek weet Sciarroni met eenvoudige middelen een maximale emotionele zeggingskracht te evoceren. Hypnotiserend mooi.
