Ocean of Sound is Belgium's first festival to use 4DSOUND technology (by Monom Studios). A room with 48 speakers immerses you in an ocean of sound. Expect two weekends with spatial live shows, intimate listening sessions in the dark and a four-dimensional club night.

Ocean Of Sound is a Leuven New Horizons I Dieric Bouts Festival event. True to the pioneering spirit and perspective painting of Bouts in his day, 4DSOUND now treats us to new musical experience perspectives, from old-school stereo to four-dimensional listening.
Ocean of Sound is an initiative of KU[N]ST Leuven, STUK & Monom Studios as part of New Horizons | Dieric Bouts Festival. In collaboration with 4DSOUND, Het Depot, 30CC and Veduta. The title ‘Ocean of Sound’ refers to the eponymous book by David Toop.
ABOUT MONOM
Monom Studios is an experimental performance space and studio using 4DSOUND, located in Funkhaus in Berlin, the historic broadcasting building of the GDR. It was one of the first places with a permanent 4DSOUND system. As a studio, residency venue and event organizer, it focuses on deeply moving spatial sound experiences with a capacity of 400 people. 16 columns of omnidirectional speakers and subwoofers are equally spaced around the space, immersing the audience in spatial sound.

4DSOUND is an Amsterdam-based studio focusing on spatial sound as a creative medium. Since 2007, 4DSOUND has been at the forefront of some of the most creatively challenging and technically complex projects using spatial audio in the context of architecture, music, opera, fashion and research.
