Sound in May Opening: Floris Vanhoof & Rie Nakajima + guests Akio Suzuki & Aki Onda

Opening of the duo-expo of Floris Vanhoof and Rie Nakajima, with guest performances by sound-icons Akio Suzuki and Aki Onda.

STUK presents two sound installations by (°1982) and Rie Nakajima (°1976) as part of Sound in May. Both works are built up using a large number of sound objects that together form a multi-layered symphony, albeit contrasting in form, aesthetics and acoustics. The listener determines his own composition by walking around between these surroundings.

During the opening night, the artists will perform live in their installations. Floris Vanhoof also presents his new album The Fluid Computer, released on KRAAK. Finally, Rie Nakajima invites two Japanese sound art icons: Akio Suzuki and Aki Onda. They will perform musical interventions in dialogue with the STUK architecture.
