Masterclass Floris Vanhoof

In the context of the WORKSPACE/LABO program of Cas-co and the exhibition in STUK by Floris Vanhoof & Rie Nakajima (3-16.05.19) media artist Floris Vanhoof will give a free 2-day masterclass for artists working or having interest in the field of visual arts, performance, installation and sound.

Starting point is the transdisciplinary practice of Vanhoof in which different media and artistic practices overlap. His work combines homemade musical circuits with abandoned projection technologies for audiovisual installations, expanded cinema performances and music releases. Translating the one medium to the other Vanhoof challenges the ways in which our perception operates and how new perspectives appear by doing so. The masterclass program includes a.o. the activation of the sculptural sound installation Polyhedra, a performance with a brain operated film projector, two-way interviews and an introduction in building sound circuits and modular objects.
